Welcome to POINT – Portland Outdoor Indoor Nutrition & Training. At POINT we train indoors to play outdoors. Why? Because that is the point. The world is a big, beautiful, wonderful place full of exciting experiences and serene landscape to enjoy. We never want to have to turn down an outdoor opportunity – or ANY opportunity – because we are not physically (or mentally) capable of doing it.
This is why we started POINT. We couldn’t find another gym that would admit there is more outside than they could offer inside. Everyone focused on “slimming down,” or “bulking up,” – both messages relating only to image rather than ability. Most of the fitness industry has lost sight of the real reasons people need and want to exercise – to be strong, healthy, confident people who can do cool things. Instead we have been tricked into thinking that fitness is about how we look. That is NOT the point.
So here we are. Welcome to our blog. Like us, it is going to be full of insider (outsider?) tips, tricks, how-to’s, personal experiences, and maybe even some clever wit and sarcasm. We are excited to share our passion for health, fitness, and the outdoors and help you explore new ways to integrate these themes into your life.
